As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for packaging high-precision/critical parts for shipment, handling incoming and outgoing shipments, and managing the inventory of raw materials and subcomponents. This role may require fabricating custom shipping crates, so the ideal candidate will have woodworking skills and experience with a range of tools. The team member in this role will work closely with internal departmental teams and serve as a champion for our ERP system. Occasional driving of company vehicles for pickups and deliveries may be needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) to three (3) years of relevant shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Forklift certified or ability to become certified within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming goods for accuracy (weight, length, count) and quality, comparing purchase orders and shippers/bills of lading to actual received goods
  • Ensure that all received items are entered into SAP and matched to corresponding POs
  • Prepare items for shipping, including boxing items, creating shipping labels, and maintaining detailed records of outgoing shipments
  • Measure, weigh, stamp, and saw raw material as needed
  • Manage inventory by organizing stock in the shop and maintaining accurate records
  • Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks, either by hand or using equipment such as forklifts
  • Process returned goods, documenting damages and discrepancies, and returning goods to stock
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality for pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely and efficient transport of goods
  • Resolve shipping issues and complaints that arise, escalating complex issues to management as needed
  • Assist with general shop tasks as necessary or during downtime
  • Perform other duties as assigned
