About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate receiving, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and finished goods. This role ensures that the right product is shipped to the right customer at the right time—safely, accurately, and efficiently. You will work closely with Material Handlers and production teams to support daily operations, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.

Requirements

  • Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or material handling preferred
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability to read shipping documents, packing lists, and work orders
  • Forklift experience or willingness to obtain certification
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, reach, grasp, and operate material handling equipment
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures

Responsibilities

  • Prepare customer orders for shipment, ensuring correct counts, labeling, packaging, and documentation
  • Verify shipments against orders and Bills of Lading
  • Pack and secure materials to prevent damage during transit
  • Prepare packing lists, labels, and shipping paperwork (including UPS shipments)
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory checks as assigned
  • Receive and inspect raw materials, purchased parts, and returned goods
  • Verify material counts and report discrepancies or damage
  • Label, store, and transport materials to appropriate storage or production areas
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (with proper training)
  • Isolate and label returned or rejected materials
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping/receiving and dock areas
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality system standards
  • Support rush orders and changing production schedules
  • Assist with inventory control and documentation
  • Cross-train in shipping and receiving functions as needed
  • Suggest process improvements related to safety, quality, and efficiency
