Shipping and Receiving Clerk

About The Position
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for inspection of deliveries with great attention to detail and be in good physical condition to lift and move heavy items. Should be able to ensure efficient receiving processes and promptly resolve any problems or discrepancies. Able to manage the logistics of items entering and leaving the facility.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
- Good oral and written communications skills required.
- Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks throughout the day.
- Exceptional organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous shipping and receiving experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Load shipping crates on trucks for shipment and customer delivery
- Unload incoming shipping crates from trucks as they are received and inspect for transportation damage, noting any damage that is visual on the bill of lading.
- Store items received in appropriate storage areas, decrementing any changes
- Prepare items for shipping, noting contents, delivery methods and other logistical detail
- Operation of forklift and other small machines/hand tools as required.
- Maintain a clearly organized workspace
- Communicating with vendors regarding problems
- Understand and operator MRP system efficiently
- Follow all established SOP
- Understand and follow all safety regulations
