About The Position

This role involves receiving, unloading, and processing deliveries, accounting for incoming freight against invoices and receiving reports. Merchandise will be staged by department, marked appropriately, and delivered to its designated area. The position requires verifying and tracking received inventory, completing inventory reports and logs, and reconciling shipping invoices and receiving reports for count accuracy. Responsibilities also include receiving, storing, shipping, and delivering incoming and outgoing department packages and mail, securing the receiving room, and adhering to all national, state, and local hazardous material shipping guidelines and regulations. The attendant will ship all outgoing mail and packages, verify the quantity and condition of packages upon receipt before delivery to guests, and communicate with guests regarding received packages. Maintaining an accurate tracking system for all shipping and receiving transactions, including obtaining guest signatures, and reporting any loss or damage to management are key duties. Additionally, the role requires reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions, completing safety training, following company policies, maintaining a professional appearance, protecting company assets, addressing guest needs professionally, speaking clearly, answering telephones with proper etiquette, developing positive working relationships, reading and visually verifying information, inspecting tools and equipment, and performing other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors. This includes moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, manipulating objects with fine motor skills, moving through narrow or elevated spaces, and moving over various surfaces and stairs. Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, is also part of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and process deliveries.

  • Stage merchandise by department, mark appropriately for placement in facility, and deliver merchandise to appropriate department.
  • Verify and track received inventory and complete inventory reports and logs.
  • Reconcile shipping invoices and receiving reports to ensure count accuracy.
  • Receive, store, ship, and deliver incoming and outgoing department packages and mail.
  • Secure the receiving room and its contents, ensuring safekeeping of packages.
  • Follow all national, state, and local hazardous material shipping guidelines and regulations.
  • Ship all out-going mail and packages.
  • Verify quantity and condition of packages upon receipt prior to delivery to guest.
  • Communicate with guest regarding received packages.
  • Maintain accurate tracking system on all shipping and receiving transactions, including receiving guest signatures for received packages.
  • Communicate with proper management regarding any loss or damage with packages.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Address guests' service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.
