Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • This position requires use of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
  • Individual must be a: Citizen of the United States, or Permanent resident alien of the United States, or Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15
  • Must be able to carry out written, oral, or diagram form instructions.
  • Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks as assigned by Department Manager.
  • Maintain quality and quantity with strong sense of accountability and standards.
  • Complete all relevant documentation.
  • Clean & maintain equipment & work area.
  • Verifies and keeps records on incoming/outgoing shipments and prepares items to ship.
  • Identifies information and counts, weighs/measures items of incoming/outgoing shipments to verify against BOM, Invoices, Orders, etc.
  • Determines method of shipment through ERP system.
  • Assembles containers or selects pre-assembled containers.
  • Inserts items into containers using spacers, fillers and protective padding.
  • Adheres identifying information and shipping instructions onto containers and posts weights and shipping charges.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments.
  • Records all discrepancies and reports to Purchasing.
  • Routes items to Departments.
  • May direct others in preparing outgoing shipments.
  • Store received items in Stockroom according to identifying information; part number, size or material type.
  • Perform limited pick up/delivery duties.
  • Responsible for shipping supplies such as packaging, boxes, padding, bags, etc. and other commonly re-ordered items such as gloves, tweezers, etc.
  • Works with accounting to maintain accurate counts on shipping supplies.
  • Works with purchasing to re-order shipping supplies.
  • Trains new hires.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations and with Morgan New Bedford, MA EHS Guidelines. Guidelines include but not limited to participation in required EHS training and use of proper PPE. Employees are responsible for reporting hazardous conditions and job-related injuries or illnesses to their supervisor.
