Requirements

  • Forklift experience is required
  • Shipping and/or Receiving experience
  • Excellent attendance
  • Self-motivation, and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work overtime and occasional holidays as required
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Ability to move shift to shift from time to time (Example: for training purposes or coverage purposes)

Responsibilities

  • Accurate staging of shipments as per customer requirements
  • Preparing shipping documentation
  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Picking orders
  • Assistance in keeping the finished goods area organized and clean
  • Preparing and palletizing shipments according to customer requirements
  • Maintaining and preparing customer-supplied packaging
  • Tracking the receipt of customer packaging and the use of expendables to meet customer demands
  • Ensuring the safe operation of lift trucks in the shipping/receiving area
  • Picking product for shipments in FIFO order
  • Ensuring staged shipments exactly match paperwork and meet customer requirements
  • Ensuring loaded shipments exactly match paperwork and meet customer requirements
  • Ensuring all finished goods are handled, moved and stored in such a way as to prevent product damage or deterioration
  • Ensuring all shortages noted while staging shipments and all shipping discrepancies are communicated to the Shipping Co-ordinator and Supervisor
  • Operating a forklift
