We are looking to hire a Production employee - Slotter Take Off - Back up to Shipping, for our Mississauga location. Must have tow motor/counter balance experience (Propane). The wage rate for the slotter take off position is: $ 28.98. Please note that this position involves weekly rotating shifts, including Midnight Shift 10pm-6am, Afternoon Shift 2pm-10pm, Day Shift 6am-2pm. Paid as Shipper when providing support to the shipping dept: $30.24.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid tow motor permit to safely load or unload trailers and trucks as required and take off the line as required - counter balance/tow motor - propane
  • Must have more than three years of experience driving counter balance /tow motor - propane
  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Previous manufacturing experience an asset

Responsibilities

  • To safely operate and maintain all press equipment and machinery to produce quality products per company quality policy.
  • To safely operate the tow motor and accurately complete associated paperwork to prepare and load goods for timely shipment to customer.
  • Receiving incoming materials/goods, per company quality policy.
  • Work in a team environment and be a team player.
  • Follow instructions from the Operator.
  • Will be required to set up and operate machine as per orders.
  • Verify specifications with production copy.
  • Keep ample supply of bottom sheets available.
  • Stack and pile units as per customer requirements as stated on documentation.
  • Visually and continually inspect for any non-conformances.
  • To take off the machine at or above the standards set by the company.
  • Accurately complete time sheets.
  • Follow all ISO and HACCP procedures.
  • Report all problems to your Operator and/or Supervisor when they occur.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Have a valid tow motor permit to safely load or unload trailers and trucks as required and take off the line as required.
  • Verify counts on production copies with actual product.
  • Load trailers/trucks so as to achieve maximum space utilization and take off the line as required.
  • Note if any damaged goods are received have delivery person sign delivery slip confirming the damage.
  • Visually inspect for any non-conformances.
  • Follow all required procedures.
  • Report all problems to your supervisor or lead hand when they occur.
  • Perform daily check list on the tow motor.
  • Other sundries duties as assigned by supervisor or lead hand.
  • Follow equipment specific physical lock out tag out procedure.
  • Report all hazards / problems to your Supervisor when they occur.
  • Use Manager plus and place a work request.
  • Use of hazard reporting form.
  • Report injury / incident to your Supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety act, and Good housekeeping practices.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) – Hi- viz vest, gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection in the plant area.
  • Abide by all plant rules, safety rules and regulations of the Company.
  • Keep fire equipment and exits clear all time.
  • Zero Tolerance - Workplace Violence and Harassment: Refer to the policy posted on the H&S board.
  • Mobile equipment operator to ensure daily operator checklist is completed before use. I.e. Clamp truck, Forklift, Elevated work platforms.
  • Ensure Dock safety training is followed.
