About The Position

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership, a subsidiary of Johnson Controls, is seeking a Shipper/Receiver for their facility in Nisku. This technology-driven company designs, engineers, and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions. The Shipper/Receiver plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless processing of outgoing shipments and incoming items, understanding the impact of their accuracy and efficiency on other business functions. This position operates on a Monday to Thursday night shift from 6:15 PM to 5:45 AM, and reliable transportation is required.

Requirements

  • Min 2 years working experience in shipping and receiving role required.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift truck.
  • Online shipping, tracking, and receiving experience utilizing FedEx, UPS, Purolator and DHL.
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Time management skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Dependable, with good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Computer skills are a must, specifically Microsoft Office Apps like Outlook and Excel.
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, and lifting devices.
  • Put away received materials to proper storage locations.
  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records in Sage for reporting and tracking.
  • Maintain filing of shipping documents.
  • Prepare and schedule shipments and daily transportation needs with different carriers/couriers.
  • Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries.
  • Perform forklift circle checks and routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
  • Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Sort and distribute incoming shipments to applicable departments.
  • Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off and report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
  • Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.
  • Problem-solve for any causes of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
