About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Forklift Operator to manage the logistical handling of all inbound and outbound shipments, including documentation for domestic and international import/export activities. This role ensures shipments are handled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and customer requirements. The Forklift Operator plays a key role in maintaining smooth warehouse and transportation operations while fostering positive relationships with carriers and suppliers. This position is hourly and non-exempt status.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3 years of forklift experience
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment
- Sufficient acuity to complete documentation, verify labels, and read shipping instructions.
Nice To Haves
- logistics or supply chain coursework or certification preferred
- Experience in logistics, shipping & receiving, or supply chain coordination preferred

Responsibilities
- Oversee the unloading of inbound deliveries and communicate with necessary departments regarding received materials.
- Coordinate with receiving staff upon deliveries; provide assistance with receiving during peak delivery periods.
- Verify driver details upon pick-up to ensure proper loading and prevent errors.
- Follow SOPs for handling damaged goods with LTL carriers or logistical partners.
- Ensure shipping instructions, including customer-specific requirements, are followed precisely.
- Assist with pallet preparation and staging of materials awaiting completion or pick-up.
- Perform daily loading of outbound shipments, verifying pallet counts, weights, dimensions, and ensuring all documentation is accurate.
- Maintain professional relationships with LTL carriers and logistical partners, addressing changes as they occur.
- Maintain clear receiving lanes and assist in organizing plant materials in coordination with receiving and material handlers.
- Follow all safety procedures and report any safety concerns to plant management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by plant management.
