About The Position

The Ship&Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving and unloading incoming materials, comparing packing slips with purchase orders for accuracy, and processing return shipments. This role involves sorting, counting, packaging, labeling, insuring, unpacking, and logging inventory. The clerk will also inspect shipments for damages or defects, record discrepancies, and notify supervisors. Operation of a dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift may be required for loading and unloading. The position adheres to established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and quality, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Miscellaneous job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Responsibilities

  • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
  • Processes return shipments from customers.
  • Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received.
  • Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
  • May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
