About The Position
Hutco Inc. is seeking first-class ship fitters for shipyards located in Harvey, LA. This role primarily involves repair work on barges and boats. A test will be conducted on-site to assess capabilities. No TWIC card is required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience as a 1st class ship fitter
- Must know Ship terminology
- Must pass a drug test and physical
- Must be able to work all shifts
Responsibilities
- Lays out and fabricates metal structural parts, such as plates, bulkheads, and frames.
- Braces fabricated parts in position within the ship's hull for welding.
- Outfitting experience.
- Lay out and fabricate parts for ships.
- Burn, wash, and bevel with a hand torch.
