About The Position

Wedgwood Christian Services is seeking a Shift Supervisor to provide direct care and on-shift leadership within their residential behavioral health program serving adolescent boys (ages 12-17). This role involves mentoring youth, leading staff, ensuring consistency in care, guiding daily operations, and supporting a therapeutic environment grounded in trauma-informed practices. The Shift Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining structure, coaching staff, and ensuring high-quality care on every shift. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about behavioral health, trauma-informed residential care, Good Lives Model rehabilitation, youth advocacy, and therapeutic mentorship.

Requirements

  • At least 20 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and safely perform physical interventions when necessary
  • Alignment with Wedgwood's Statement of Faith, vision and values

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to direct care staff during assigned shifts
  • Coordinate staff assignments to ensure appropriate coverage and effective treatment support
  • Ensure completion of all shift responsibilities, including documentation, medication administration, and scheduled programming
  • Support and guide staff in implementing individualized treatment plans
  • Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and mentorship to promote staff development and team cohesion
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new staff as assigned
  • Create and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment grounded in the Sanctuary Model (safety, emotional intelligence, open communication, and social learning)
  • Build consistent, mentoring relationships with youth using trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches
  • Utilize verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to support behavioral regulation
  • Model and teach healthy communication, problem-solving, and daily living skills
  • Support youth in developing life skills, self-worth, and positive identity formation
  • Engage in structured recreational and skill-building activities
  • Administer medications as assigned and support physical wellness routines
  • Support residents' health needs, including first aid response and coordination of medical care
  • Transport residents to appointments, school, work, or community activities as needed
  • Document and maintain accurate records in alignment with behavioral health standards
  • Ensure adherence to all agency policies, procedures, and licensing requirements
