About The Position

The Behavioral Health Supervisor – Residential Programs serves as a working clinical supervisor supporting mental health services across residential programs, including Wellstone Center and Range Treatment Center. This position provides direct clinical services while overseeing the quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance of mental health programming within residential settings. This role is responsible for providing clinical supervision and support to behavioral health practitioners and other non-licensed mental health staff, ensuring high-quality documentation, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and adherence to applicable Minnesota licensing standards, including Minnesota Statutes 245I and 245G. Direct clinical services, including assessment, therapeutic intervention, and treatment support, are required as part of this position. Due to the 24-hour nature of residential programming, this position offers flexibility in scheduling to support clinical operations, staff consultation, and resident care needs across programs.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • Licensed in Minnesota (LPCC, LICSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
  • Eligible for insurance credentialing.
  • Meet DHS background study requirements.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Valid Minnesota driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work within a residential setting.
  • Prolonged sitting and computer work.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to respond to behavioral health emergencies.
  • Sufficient vision, hearing, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to maintain a Minnesota driver's license and auto insurance
  • Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills.
  • Ability to provide therapy within a structured residential environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive assessing and required clinical documentation in compliance with 245I, 245G, and DHS standards.
  • Clinical supervision, guidance, and consultation to behavioral health practitioners and non-licensed mental health staff.
  • Develop, review, and update Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs) based on diagnostic assessment and medical necessity.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy focused on co-occurring disorders.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team staffing and clinical supervision.
  • Provide clinical leadership within the therapeutic milieu.
  • Respond to behavioral health crises and support de-escalation efforts.
  • Collaborate with nursing, psychiatric providers, case managers, and community supports.
  • Support discharge planning and transition to lower levels of care.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality, HIPAA, and DHS regulations.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and clinical audits as assigned.
  • Support implementation of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
