Shift Supervisor (Full-Time) | Residential Behavioral Health
About The Position
Wedgwood Christian Services is seeking a Shift Supervisor to provide direct care and on-shift leadership within their residential behavioral health program serving youth (ages 10-16). This role involves mentoring youth, leading staff, ensuring consistency in care, guiding daily operations, and supporting a therapeutic environment grounded in trauma-informed practices. The Shift Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining structure, coaching staff, and ensuring high-quality care on every shift. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about behavioral health, trauma-informed residential care, leadership development, and youth advocacy.
Requirements
- At least 20 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and safely perform physical interventions when necessary
- Ability to bend, twist, and support movement in a residential setting

Responsibilities
- Provide direction to direct care staff during assigned shifts.
- Coordinate staff assignments to ensure appropriate coverage and effective treatment support.
- Ensure completion of all shift responsibilities, including documentation, medication administration, and scheduled programming.
- Support and guide staff in implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and mentorship to promote staff development and team cohesion.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new staff as assigned.
- Create and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment grounded in the Sanctuary Model (safety, emotional intelligence, open communication, and social learning).
- Build consistent, mentoring relationships with youth using trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches.
- Utilize verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to support behavioral regulation.
- Model and teach healthy communication, problem-solving, and daily living skills.
- Support youth in developing life skills, self-worth, and positive identity formation.
- Engage in structured recreational and skill-building activities.
- Administer medications as assigned and support physical wellness routines.
- Support residents' health needs, including first aid response and coordination of medical care.
- Transport residents to appointments, school, work, or community activities as needed.
- Document and maintain accurate records in alignment with behavioral health standards.
- Ensure adherence to all agency policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
