About The Position

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading daily shift operations, ensuring employees, equipment, materials, and resources are properly assigned and prepared to meet production, delivery, quality, and safety expectations. This role involves maintaining a visible presence on the production floor, communicating priorities, monitoring production performance, and ensuring adherence to all manufacturing, quality, safety, and company procedures. The Shift Supervisor will also lead, coach, and develop team members, address employee concerns, ensure accurate documentation, and support continuous improvement efforts.

  • Ability to work overtime as business needs require.
  • Ability to complete required off-site training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in accordance with the requirements of the position.
  • Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screening, including a drug screen and background check.
  • Must maintain regular and reliable attendance and report to work as scheduled.
  • Must be available to work the assigned 3rd shift schedule, including overtime, weekends, or additional hours as business needs require.
  • Must comply with all TekModo safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must complete all required safety, equipment, and job-specific training.
  • Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience monitoring production performance and KPIs preferred.
  • Continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, or root-cause analysis experience preferred.
  • Forklift certified or ability to become certified.
  • Must be forklift certified or successfully obtain certification as required for the position.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment that is not temperature controlled.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily shift operations, ensuring employees, equipment, materials, and resources are properly assigned and prepared to meet production, delivery, quality, and safety expectations.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the production floor, clearly communicate priorities and expectations, and ensure employees understand their responsibilities and production targets.
  • Monitor production performance, including output, scrap, downtime, and quality; identify concerns and work with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Ensure employees follow all manufacturing, quality, safety, and company procedures; immediately address unsafe conditions, behaviors, or other compliance concerns.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders and Team Members through training, feedback, recognition, and accountability while promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Ensure required employee training is completed and employees are properly trained and qualified for their assigned responsibilities.
  • Address employee performance, attendance, conduct, and other workplace concerns appropriately, escalating matters to the Plant Manager and People & Culture when necessary.
  • Ensure all required production, quality, safety, shipping, and shift documentation is completed accurately and provide effective communication and handoff between shifts.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, efficiency, scrap reduction, downtime, workflow, and overall team performance.
