About The Position

The Shift Supervisor will supervise and coordinate all tasks of subordinates and to ensure all equipment is operating at peak efficiency to meet company assigned goals. This role involves running the production area, ensuring goods are produced and packaged in correct quantities according to specifications, and accurately recording production data. The Shift Supervisor is also responsible for performing mold changes, ensuring product quality, and enforcing company policies and safety procedures among the team. Additionally, the role involves leading the team to work efficiently, assessing training needs, ensuring adequate staffing, and managing time and attendance. The Shift Supervisor will attend meetings with the Production Manager, review employee concerns, and maintain good housekeeping within the department.

Requirements

  • Min High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical engineering background
  • Supervisory experience required, preferably in the plastics industry
  • Good process knowledge
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to train personnel
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Act in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times by adhering to all ALPLA policies and procedures and Safety Standards (OSHA).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all tasks of subordinates.
  • Ensure all equipment is operating at peak efficiency to meet company assigned goals.
  • Run the Production area.
  • Ensure goods are produced and packaged in correct quantities in accordance with agreed specifications.
  • Accurately record goods produced, and problems encountered during shift to ensure the smooth changeover of shifts.
  • Perform mold changes with the Machine Operator.
  • Ensure the good quality of the product.
  • Ensure all employees understand and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all employees work in a safe manner by following company regulations.
  • Ensure team works together as efficiently as possible.
  • Assess training needs of staff and ensure execution of training.
  • Ensure adequate staffing to cover absenteeism and holidays, as well as normal operations.
  • Correctly record time and attendance of team.
  • Perform performance evaluations on a regular basis.
  • Attend meetings with Production Manager.
  • Review employee concerns and issues with the Production Manager.
  • Maintain good housekeeping within department.
