SHIFT SUPERVISOR (TRANSPORTATION) (FULL TIME)
About The Position
We are hiring immediately for a full time SHIFT SUPERVISOR (TRANSPORTATION) position. This role involves directing the activities of associates during a specific shift, ensuring assigned job expectations are completed while policy and procedure is maintained. The position requires overseeing and coordinating the daily work activities of assigned staff to ensure tasks are completed safely, accurately, and on time. The supervisor will monitor workflow, adjust employee assignments, provide real-time problem solving, and escalate issues to the Manager when higher-level intervention is required. They will also ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standard operating practices. This role will assist and oversee the transportation department when the Transportation Manager is scheduled off and will fill in as a driver when needed for coverage or support. Associates in this role will work in a temperature-controlled environment with exposure to cold conditions for extended periods of time.
Requirements
- Previous technical or supervisory experience preferred.
- Must have 1 year of driving a box truck.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the daily work activities of assigned staff to ensure tasks are completed safely, accurately, and on time.
- Monitor workflow and adjust employee assignments to meet operational demands.
- Provide real-time problem solving and escalate issues to the Manager when higher‑level intervention is required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
- Assist and oversee the transportation department when the Transportation Manager is scheduled off.
- Fill in as driver when needed for coverage or support.
- Responsible for providing training and creating work schedules.
- Evaluating the performance of workers, rewarding high performers and disciplining employees who fail to meet reasonable standards of work performance.
- Prepare production or sales reports for management and ensure their unit meets the expectations for quality, productivity and safety.
- Acts as the contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
- May act as a mentor, develop employees and encourage workers to set goals and strive for advancement within the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
