About The Position

The Mobile Crisis Response Team provides mental health rehabilitation services to adults and families in order to decrease hospitalization and crisis episodes and to increase community functioning for the client to achieve rehabilitative, resiliency, and recovery goals. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting the supervisor in training, mentorship, and support to the clinical team. The Shift Supervisor will manage a case load, run groups, act as point person for staff questions and problem solving, provide training, provide quality assurance, complete reporting, and attend required leadership meetings.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, counseling, or related field or RN with one year experience in mental health.
  • QMHP required
  • Ability to motivate and problem solve with staff.
  • Ability to work with persons from diverse backgrounds and personalities.
  • Skilled in behavioral management techniques
  • Ability to coordinate and present lectures for clients, parents and community resources
  • Certified Addictions Counselor or able to obtain such certification within two years
  • CPR training or complete within three months
  • Good keyboarding skills and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, ability to learn new computer programs easily.
  • Positive demeanor, empathetic and calm.
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct oversight and guidance to crisis response staff during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure staff adhere to protocols, safety procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Offer real-time consultation on complex or high-risk cases.
  • Monitor incoming crisis calls and assign response teams appropriately when needed.
  • Support decision-making for escalation to law enforcement, hospitalization, or other emergency services when necessary.
  • Review and approve crisis assessments and interventions for accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Ensure staff follow de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Provide guidance on safety planning for individuals in crisis.
  • Respond in the field as needed for high-risk situations.
  • Ensure documentation is completed accurately, thoroughly, and on time.
  • Monitor performance metrics (e.g., response times, case outcomes).
  • Prepare shift reports summarizing activities, staffing, and notable incidents.
  • Provide on-the-spot coaching and feedback to staff.
  • Identify training needs and communicate them to program leadership.
  • Mentor new staff and ensure consistent application of best practices.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, EMS, hospitals, shelters, and community providers during active crises.
  • Serve as a point of contact for partner agencies during your shift.
  • Escalate systemic concerns or service gaps to program leadership.
  • Adjust staff assignments as needed to maintain adequate coverage.
  • Track and report any safety concerns or equipment issues.
  • Respond directly to crisis calls when team coverage requires additional support.
  • Model professional, calm, and effective intervention techniques in the field.
  • Assist with transport, safety checks, or involuntary commitment procedures if necessary.
