About The Position

The 3rd Shift Production Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all production, packaging, quality, sanitation, and storage activities during the third shift. This role provides hands-on leadership on the production floor, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality operations across high‑speed production lines and scheduled off‑line work. The position requires strong leadership, technical aptitude, and the ability to drive performance in a fast‑paced food and beverage manufacturing environment. This position is Sunday thru Thursday night.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3–5 years of food/beverage manufacturing experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Solid understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and food manufacturing standards.
  • Ability to calculate daily production metrics and perform basic math functions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to read and interpret instructions in English.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including conflict management, adaptability, teamwork, employee development, planning, and delegation.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional departments.
  • Better Process Control School certification required or willingness to obtain.
  • Must complete Food Safety Training (Qualified Individual).

Nice To Haves

  • Food Safety knowledge preferred
  • must qualify as a “Qualified Individual” under Krier Foods’ Food Safety Program.
  • FESMA, PCQI, and Management System knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce all safety, quality, and GMP standards while ensuring adherence to job specifications.
  • Conduct interviews for new hires and promotions; provide hiring recommendations to the Production Manager.
  • Prepare and submit disciplinary documentation and termination recommendations to Production Manager and Human Resources.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce forklift compliance for all personnel.
  • Read, interpret, and communicate job standards, packaging requirements, and product quality specifications to production leads and employees.
  • Collaborate with Production Manager – Production and Quality & Compliance to resolve lab or blending issues.
  • Train, motivate, and direct production and off‑line employees to perform duties safely, efficiently, and consistently; prepare and post weekly production crewing schedules.
  • Align manpower with production schedules and communicate labor needs to the Production Manager.
  • Assist with line changeovers, verify proper setup, and inspect equipment (processing systems, detectors, injectors, coders, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve personnel, equipment, and processing issues; document actions taken.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality requirements, and all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Monitor equipment performance, report issues, and complete required documentation (work requests, daily reports).
  • Review production records for accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas throughout and at the end of the shift.
  • Assist with 90‑day and annual performance reviews; submit recommendations to the Production Manager.
  • Ensure proper use and removal of containers (rejected cans, can end sleeves, etc.) at end of shift.
  • Recommend long‑term improvements, including equipment upgrades, SOP changes, productivity enhancements, and material improvements.
  • Achieve facility goals related to productivity, quality, safety, health, and environmental performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
