About The Position

The Shift Manager Facilities is responsible for ensuring all work order requests related to mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other assigned areas are completed properly and timely to meet safety and service standards during their assigned shift. This role promotes and enforces safety practices, oversees recruitment, hiring, training, and personnel matters, and ensures performance reviews are completed annually. The Shift Manager is also responsible for the security of keys, responding to emergencies, maintaining the quality of products delivered to guests, and implementing new or improved best practices. They must maintain ongoing knowledge of all aspects of the facilities on the property, manage department schedules, enforce attendance policies, and ensure all work is performed with care to prevent damage. The role requires a strong understanding of the company's marketplace, financial metrics, and the ability to present new ideas and perspectives. A key aspect of this role is putting the guest at the forefront of every decision.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of field concepts, principles, practices and procedures.
  • Significant experience creating, tracking and controlling financial metrics.
  • Strong supervisory and communication skills.
  • Must have working ability with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Familiarity w/ building systems, HVAC, Plumbing, Kitchen Mechanics, etc.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.
  • Fluency in English required, second language a plus.
  • Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal, and work with mathematical such as probability and inference.
  • Ability to create, read and analyze spread sheets of statistical data.
  • Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request.
  • Must be able to interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
  • Lift or maneuver at least twenty-five (25) pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all work order requests related to mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting and other assigned areas are completed properly and timely to meet safety and service standards during assigned shift.
  • Promotes and enforces safety practices and procedures within the department.
  • Ensures effective recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching, counseling and other personnel related matters are being handled appropriately throughout the departments.
  • Facilitates and ensures that performance reviews of all employees within department are complete on a yearly basis.
  • Prepares reports of department progress or as required by senior management.
  • Responsible for the security of all keys issued, key in inventory, keys destroyed, and keys turned in by other employees during assigned shift.
  • Responds to all emergencies per established procedures, provide expertise, directs team members and resources in the event of an emergency during assigned shift.
  • Responsible for quality consistent presentation of all products delivered to guest.
  • Assists in training, motivating and supervises staff to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established job requirements.
  • Implementation of new or improved best practices or procedures.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of all aspects of the facilities on property.
  • Schedules of department and enforces attendance policies.
  • Ensures that all work is done with care and no damage occurs.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
