About The Position

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of technicians and engineers, you will build human-rated orbital launch vehicles. In this role, you will directly lead and supervise technicians and coordinate additional teammates such as manufacturing engineers, quality personnel, production controllers, schedulers, etc. You will have ultimate and full responsibility for guiding your crew with the Manufacturing of TPS products. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience Supervising/Leading in a similar field.
  • CNC Experience with Quilters, laser cutters, routers, splitters, PLCS and Valves.
  • Lean/5S
  • Familiar with Automated equipment and operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with Lasers, Commercial Quilting machines, Bonding, Furnace operations, Valves and PLCs.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and coordination skills
  • Continuous improvement mentality. Our job is never complete; we are always refining and improving
  • Curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it
  • Lean certification
  • Experience in new product introduction
  • Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Aerospace/Launch vehicles
  • Experience in assembly, integration, and handling of large production

Responsibilities

  • Supervise personnel working TPS Manufacturing day-to-day operations with emphasis on Safety, to include scheduling and delegation of work.
  • Guide teammates and ensure that each person has everything vital to safely succeed
  • Champion continued learning and growth to attract, develop, and retain phenomenal people
  • Conduct regular check-ins to ensure team member performance, fulfillment, and growth
  • Author job descriptions, screen candidates, and conduct interviews. Make hiring recommendations
  • Develop and implement process, efficiency, and continuous safety improvements
  • Responsible for prioritizing and establishment of Work Center assignments, employee training, overtime assignments and back-up for absent employees
  • Maintain all shop programs including Safety, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Clean as you go programs
