About The Position

e4c's Long-Term Supported Housing provides a home to individuals with complex mental health and additions who require 24/7 on-site support. Operating from a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and harm reduction approach, residents will work with the onsite staff to set and work towards their own self-identified recovery goals pertaining to their overall wellness and recovery. The Shift Lead is responsible for supervising, mentoring, and guiding Community Support Workers. This role emphasizes a trauma-informed perspective, an Indigenous worldview, and a strength-based approach to delivering frontline services. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Shift Lead shares accountability for helping residents achieve their goals while ensuring efficient and appropriate daily operations.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Suicide Intervention
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle
  • Proof of vehicle insurance (min. $2 million liability), registration and 3-year drivers abstract.

  • 2+ years working with marginalized, high-risk, and vulnerable populations.
  • 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.

  • Broad understanding of homelessness, harm reduction, mental health, addictions, trauma, and cultural and gender diversity.
  • In-depth knowledge of community resources for health, legal, cultural, income, and housing support.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows environments.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and report on outcome-based programs.
  • Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Check.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and coach Support Workers while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Supervise and support daily frontline operations, ensuring completion of responsibilities and alignment with program goals.
  • Facilitate team communication, decision-making, and staff engagement in training, meetings, and operational planning.
  • Oversee resident care by collaborating on recovery-oriented, goal-driven care plans using harm reduction and relational approaches.
  • Support residents’ holistic wellbeing (physical, emotional, spiritual, mental) through coordination with clinical and community partners.
  • Promote a respectful, empowering environment, modeling conflict resolution, positive communication, and empathy.
  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation, reporting, and adherence to health, safety, and contract obligations.
  • Manage crises and critical incidents, ensuring proper reporting and follow-up with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Monitor staff schedules, caseloads, and program outcomes, recognizing and supporting staff performance.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and perform other duties to enhance program effectiveness and resident support.
