About The Position

The Janitorial Shift Lead is responsible for ensuring that the janitorial staff cleans and maintains the client’s premises to the standards set by the client, as well as assisting in the cleaning of facilities. Hours are 3:05 PM to 11:35 PM.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the janitorial/facilities field.
  • Pass criminal background screening and drug screen
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities and high customer demand.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in maintenance work.
  • Must have excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to lead others and motivate people.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team; an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check

Responsibilities

  • Discuss work duties for the day with staff.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards.
  • Perform or assist with cleaning duties as necessary. This may include, but is not limited to dust mopping, sweeping, stripping/refinishing, carpet scrubbing, servicing restrooms, window washing, recycling and garbage collecting, etc.
  • Investigate complaints about service and equipment and take corrective action.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required.
  • Select the most suitable cleaning materials for different types of surfaces, furniture, and flooring.
  • Instruct staff in work policies and procedures, as well as the use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Issue supplies and equipment to workers.
  • Inventory stock to ensure that supplies and equipment are available in adequate amounts.
  • Evaluate employee performance and recommend personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
  • Confer with staff to resolve performance and personnel problems, and to discuss company policies.
  • Implement operational standards and procedures for the departments supervised.
  • Recommend changes that could improve service and increase operational efficiency.
  • Prepare reports on activity, personnel, and information, such as occupancy, hours worked, facility usage, and work performed.
  • Check and maintain equipment to ensure that it is in working order.
  • Additional duties as directed by Sr management.
