Shift Lead 1
About The Position
As a Shift Lead 1, you will support store performance to ensure the store meets or exceeds customer service standards, sales plans, profitability, operating procedures, and merchandising objectives. You will learn best practices for training and developing a team and set expectations for excellent customer service by leading by example. The role includes collaborating with the General Manager on store operations and taking part in opening and closing responsibilities, which may include delivering the daily bank deposit. Pay is $15.00–$17.00 per hour. Compensation within the range is determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, and skills, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to achieve placement in the succession program.
- Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency.
- Ability to complete required training within two months of hire.
- At least one year of external retail experience, or a proven record as a Lead for at least six months with successful completion of testing on Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced training modules (internal).
- Before becoming a key holder, candidates must successfully complete testing on all required Intermediate training.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Experience leading a team is preferred.
- New hires with at least six months of managerial experience may be considered for the position.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the General Manager to learn store operations expectations and procedures, sales plans, profit margins, payroll, and controllable expenses (P&L).
- Conduct water analysis and mechanical repairs.
- Increase commercial and residential sales and customer counts.
- Ensure the team follows all safety protocols.
- Identify new talent to join the team.
- Maintain a clean, well-merchandised, and welcoming environment.
- Assist with merchandising and inventory control.
- Handle opening and closing store responsibilities, which may include delivery of the daily bank deposit.
- Learn best practices to train and develop a team and lead by example in providing excellent customer service.
