The Shift Lead is responsible for supervising and motivating the team during their shift, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to Del Taco’s high standards. This role involves leading by example in providing excellent customer service, maintaining professionalism, and ensuring food quality. The Shift Lead will assign tasks, support staff, and assist with managing and tracking staff performance. They will also ensure customers are greeted and served promptly, handle complaints professionally, and maintain high standards of service, food quality, accuracy, and speed. Additionally, the Shift Lead oversees food preparation, ensures food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed, monitors food levels, and helps manage kitchen and restaurant cleanliness. Accurate cash handling, operating the cash register, processing payments, and balancing the cash drawer are key responsibilities. The Shift Lead will also help manage labor and inventory costs, assist in tracking sales, and ensure daily financial procedures are completed accurately. They will also assist with onboarding and training new employees, provide feedback and coaching, and foster a positive work environment. The Shift Lead ensures the restaurant operates efficiently and safely, adheres to all policies, assists with opening and closing procedures, and communicates effectively with the management team.
