About The Position

CHEM Group is a custom chemical processor with expertise in various distillation technologies, pastillation, blending, reaction chemistry purification and heat transfer fluids. We are currently looking for a Shift Lead Operator. This position is a 12 hr rotating dupont schedule with built in Overtime every 2 weeks and a starting pay of $28/hr - $32/hr plus a night shift differential of $1/hr!!! This position is responsible for assisting in the management of the day-to-day operations of the assigned shift. The Shift Lead will direct and directly support (as needed) all operational activities based upon the general directives of the Shift supervisor. Shift Leads must have a proven track-record of safely and efficiently operating plant systems. Shift Leads must be able to complete mass balances, inventory reports, and all other plant reporting. Shift Leads may, from time to time, be required to represent the Shift Supervisor at weekly production meetings or fulfill all responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor when necessary. Success in this position will be measured primarily in terms of the incumbent’s ability to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the shift, while providing effective leadership to plant personnel that will lead to the highest levels of performance in a rapidly changing environment.

Requirements

Required Chemical Operator experience
Understanding of material flows and production planning
Excellent written and verbal communication
Computer literate (i.e., MS Office, Excel, Outlook)
Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
Ability to drive daily execution.
Excellent training and people skills.
Must comply with drug and alcohol testing policy as set forth in the Chem Group Employee Handbook

Pass the fit for duty requirements
Ability to climb stairs, use a ladder and lift 60 pounds

Responsibilities

Be the lead operator on the shift.
Step-up as the shift supervisor should that be required.
Supervision and leadership of plant personnel to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
Ensuring plant production is optimal and goals are met or exceeded with respect to productivity, throughput, cycle times, yields, and finished product quality.
Creating a work environment that drives incident-free operations.
Ensuring optimal performance in environmental compliance, health, and safety.
Coordinating with Transportation Manager to manage material transfer in and out of the Plant.
Routine and preventative maintenance of all critical equipment.
Maintaining excellent housekeeping practices in the Plant.
Abide by the principles in the EHS&S mission statement.
Abide by CHEM Group’s quality policy.
Complete mass balances, inventory reports, and all other plant reporting.
Represent the Shift Supervisor at weekly production meetings or fulfill all responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor when necessary.
