About The Position

Support Safe and Efficient Transportation Operations. Goodwill Southern California is seeking a Shift Lead – Fleet to support daily transportation operations and provide functional leadership to Class A and bobtail drivers. This working lead helps ensure routes are completed safely, on time, and in alignment with service standards.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of transportation or warehouse experience; lead experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience operating bobtail trucks; knowledge of Class A operations helpful.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work varied shifts.
  • Valid CA driver’s license and required insurance.
  • Commitment to safety and Goodwill’s RISE Values.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily direction to Class A and bobtail drivers to ensure route completion and safety compliance.
  • Lead shift start-up meetings, communicate goals, and support route coordination.
  • Assist with loading/unloading trailers and securing freight.
  • Monitor workplace organization, cleanliness, and safety practices.
  • Train drivers on safety, customer service, and operational standards.
  • Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment; conduct safety inspections.
  • Drive a bobtail truck when coverage is needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and support documentation for deliveries and inspections.
