We are currently hiring for a Practice Facility Shift Captain who will be responsible for ensuring all systems, checklists, standards, and service levels are completed and commensurate with the PGA of America brand.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Six months of prior experience or training as an Outside Operations Staff member.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple sentences.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Works harmoniously with others to get a job done, responds positively to instructions and procedures and is able to work well with staff while maintaining relationships, which breed productive disagreement and debate.
  • Meets the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Gets firsthand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services. Acts with the customer in mind and establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.
  • Valid Florida Drivers’ License.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and coordinate the operation based on the daily activity levels, events, and special programs.
  • Complete daily checklist(s) to ensure standards of operation remain consistent with brand.
  • Lead by example to ensure each member and guest receive a golf experience commensurate with the PGA of America brand.
  • Greet arriving member or guest positively with a friendly welcome.
  • Address golfers by name (Mr.) or (Mrs.) if known, and (Sir) and (Madam) if unknown.
  • Daily setup and breakdown of the practice facility.
  • Pick, wash, and restock practice balls throughout the day.
  • Keep the facility clean and safe for members and guests.
  • Proper cleaning, staging, and storage of all equipment.
  • Assist instructors in setup for lessons, clinics, and private tee rentals.
  • Clean and wash golf carts, ashtrays, coolers, and wipe out before cart is put away at night, or before cart goes out for a second round.
