This distinguished opportunity is designed for an accomplished physician-scientist and academic leader who will help define the next phase of pediatric research, discovery, and clinical excellence at MUSC. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build upon existing institutional strengths while developing a nationally recognized research program aligned with their expertise and scholarly vision. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Sherman Endowed Chair within the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), with a clinical appointment in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology.
  • Provide dedicated resources to support academic leadership, program development, faculty recruitment, research growth, and innovation.
  • Build upon existing institutional strengths while developing a nationally recognized research program aligned with their expertise and scholarly vision.
  • Contribute clinically within Pediatric Endocrinology while maintaining a significant focus on research leadership and program development.
  • Develop innovative research initiatives.
  • Recruit and mentor faculty and investigators.
  • Foster interdisciplinary partnerships.
  • Expand the national visibility and impact of pediatric research at MUSC.
  • Develop and expand a research portfolio that reflects the candidate's expertise while complementing the strategic priorities of the Department of Pediatrics and MUSC.
  • Leverage DCRI's research environment to establish and grow a nationally recognized program.
  • Foster collaboration among scientists, clinicians, and research teams across MUSC.
  • Develop a research portfolio aligned with the candidate's expertise and scientific vision.
  • Recruit and develop research teams.
  • Establish multidisciplinary collaborations.
  • Strengthen MUSC's position as a national leader in pediatric research.
  • Influence both the delivery of pediatric specialty care and the future of scientific discovery.
