About The Position

The SHEQ Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Health (SHEQ) functions within the organization. This role involves developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards, as well as driving continuous improvement in these areas. The position requires a strong understanding of quality systems, safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industrial health practices. The SHEQ Manager will also be involved in training, reporting, and managing various aspects of the SHEQ department.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of work-related experience.
  • Prior experience in industrial and manufacturing.
  • Solid understanding of Quality systems and/or Safety systems.
  • Exceptional reading comprehension, problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and accept challenges.
  • Proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios.
  • Knowledge of statistical inference, frequency distribution, and validity.
  • Experience with financial management, budgetary responsibility, forecasting/projections.
  • Proficiency with Internet/e-mail, presentation software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
  • Experience with internal manufacturing computer systems.
  • Ability to concentrate/be attentive.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement risk assessments and PPE requirements.
  • Conduct ergonomic studies and implement improvements.
  • Organize and conduct regular Safety Audits for compliance with OSHA and internal requirements.
  • Participate in Safety Committee meetings.
  • Organize training for skilled operations (e.g., industrial equipment operation, confined space).
  • Complete OSHA reporting as needed.
  • Prepare and present required safety trainings.
  • Assist with incident responses and case management.
  • Assist in the verification of incoming materials.
  • Manage and complete DOT testing, capabilities, and reporting.
  • Verify continuous compliance with ISO 9001.
  • Create, review, and update Quality documents.
  • Initiate, implement, and verify Corrective Actions.
  • Communicate with internal and external parties regarding deviations or general requests.
  • Oversee the calibration system.
  • Provide periodic reporting of plant status related to Quality.
  • Continuously assist in reducing the possibilities of internal and external deviations.
  • Prepare Management Review documentation.
  • Implement Quality Control testing for product/process verification.
  • Assist in 6S and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Verify compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Audit and report on hazardous materials.
  • Work with vendors to discard materials as necessary.
  • Complete internal and external reports as necessary.
  • Organize Industrial Health studies as needed.
  • Schedule annual audiometric testing.
  • Communicate health risks to employees.
  • Develop and assist in the accomplishment of KPIs.
  • Maintain working area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations.
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
