The SHEQ Manager will be responsible for implementing process improvements using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and measurement analysis. This role involves defining projects based on customer requirements, utilizing tools like Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), process flow mapping, control plan documentation, and Capability Analysis. The manager will ensure Costs of Quality (CoQ) metrics align with strategic initiatives, including scrap, rework, returns, appraisal, and prevention. They will establish programs to improve these metrics using continuous improvement tools and actively participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives to enhance profitability, workflow, and team performance. The position requires proactive efforts to improve quality systems both internally and externally. The manager will utilize and teach Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, quick changeover, value stream mapping, and mistake-proofing, and participate in Kaizen events as needed. Daily interaction with the production floor is expected to ensure adequate support from the Quality department to meet production efficiencies and goals. The role involves reviewing, measuring, and studying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to prevent substandard products. The SHEQ Manager will supervise and manage the daily activities of all Quality team members at their designated location, manage the Hold for Inspection (HFI) System, and communicate HFI status to relevant teams. They will communicate with and investigate customer inquiries related to quality, working with the Operations team to find solutions and implement permanent corrective actions for customer complaints. Root cause analysis for quality defects will be determined through interaction with the production floor and management, with resolutions developed to correct deficiencies. The manager will audit, summarize, and review the plant quality system with the plant management team and lead monthly Quality Management Review meetings. Preparation and communication of month-end quality report summaries to plant and corporate levels are also required. Compliance with OSHA, USEPA, and State regulations, including tracking and record-keeping for health and safety training, is essential. Travel to other plants may be necessary to establish best practices or collaborate on root cause analysis and corrective actions. Other duties as assigned.
