About The Position

Are you a book lover who dreams of being surrounded by stories and adventure? Join the Allen County Public Library as a Part-time Shelver at the Georgetown Branch. This job is perfect for students or anyone looking to add a splash of fun to their workday. Starting pay is $11.70 to $14.00 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and steady organization habits
  • Ability to read and interpret letters and numbers quickly and correctly
  • Comfortable working on your feet and moving materials throughout a shift
  • Must complete and pass the Dewey Decimal Skills Test (available at any branch or the Main Library during open hours)

Responsibilities

  • Sort and shelve books and other materials accurately
  • File items alphabetically and numerically (yes, both!)
  • Assist with basic processing of materials so they're shelf-ready
  • Work cooperatively with staff to support branch goals
