About The Position

Shelter Insurance is seeking an exceptional entrepreneur to become a Shelter Insurance Agent in Vincennes, IN. This role is ideal for individuals who desire to meet new people, develop new contacts, become known in their community, and are passionate about serving their community. If you want to grow your sales, business, and networking skills, and control your own income, this is an opportunity to start your own business without extreme start-up costs. Shelter does not require previous insurance industry experience; backgrounds can range from real estate and retail sales to education and coaching. A motivated attitude, an entrepreneurial spirit, and skilled capacity for effectively communicating with clients in a sales atmosphere are required. While some sales experience and a degree with general business courses are helpful, Shelter provides in-house and virtual new agent training schools, along with continuing industry education. Shelter does not require prospective agents to have capital/assets on hand or sell/loan agencies. The expectations are to meet sufficient sales requirements and core business proficiencies. Financial responsibilities upon departure are limited to unsatisfied bills such as advertising contracts, telephone bills, and utilities. A true business owner’s mindset is required. Agents will focus on developing prospects and selling Shelter products, with potential opportunities to bring on staff for administrative duties and sales support.
