Provide trauma-informed services and support to individuals who are experiencing domestic violence, sexual violence and/or homelessness. The role involves answering crisis hotline calls, providing safety planning, crisis intervention, education, and information/referral. It also includes triaging requests for shelter services, completing Lethality Assessments, and providing crisis intervention and safety planning for walk-in victims. The advocate will complete intake paperwork and orientation for new shelter guests, provide ongoing services and support, assist with group living needs, and mediate disagreements. Maintaining the safety and security of guests and the facility, ensuring compliance with shelter guidelines, and assisting with room preparation, cleaning, and meal service are also key aspects. Documentation of services, database entry, maintaining statistics, completing reports, and filing are required. Attendance at staff meetings and trainings is mandatory.
