About The Position

We are a group of people who work alongside those on the margins to empower individuals and communities through an inclusive range of initiatives and support. We build communities from the inside out through, workforce development, housing and homemaking, and supportive sheltering. This position requires completion of the Cultivate Initiatives Intern Program.

Requirements

  • Being physically present at the SRV for the duration of given shift.
  • Ability to reliably show up on time and stay for duration of shift.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to utilize mobile apps
  • Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous shelter or peer support experience.
  • HMIS data entry experience
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Has a working knowledge of programs, services, and community resources.
  • Completes required trainings within 30 days of hire (CPR, Blood borne pathogens, food handlers, etc.).
  • Builds trust and respect with Villagers and staff through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Responsible for knowing and following policies and procedures, including program, agency, and building specific policies.
  • Responsible for knowing and following procedures in emergencies and critical incidents.
  • Responsible to maintain accurate logs, shift reports, and neighbor records, both manually and in Apricot.
  • Assists Villagers with making appointments when needed.
  • Performs rounds of facility regularly during shift.
  • Monitoring the neighbors' behavior.
  • Responsible for clearly communicating breaks and lunches with team on shift.
  • Maintains assigned station during scheduled rotation as directed or as needed.
  • Helps keep Village clean and organized, as needed.
  • Responsible for cleaning up biohazards using appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Builds and maintains neighbor/community satisfaction with the services offered.
  • Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.
  • Conducts self within appropriate expected professional boundaries and policies.
  • Maintains confidentiality of Villagers and staff.
  • Attends all assigned trainings and meetings unless otherwise approved.
  • May participate in special projects and activities.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Represent Cultivate Initiatives to various stakeholders and community partners.
