Doncasters is seeking a Shell Operator to join their team in Newberry, SC. This role is crucial in the manufacturing of specialist superalloys and high-performance alloy components for demanding industries such as aerospace, Industrial Gas Turbines, automotive, and medical. Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of Company.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Nice To Haves

  • Some manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare wax moulds to be coated for the boiler clave process and casting.
  • Set up for production daily.
  • Run pre-coat on all racks.
  • Apply back up coats to all racks following SOP’S and IT’S until all coats and racks are finished.
  • Perform end of the shift clean-up daily.
  • Pull racks from wax room.
  • Position full white precoat bucket under spinner.
  • Fill fluidized bed to the bottom of slope with sand.
  • Remove assembly from wax rack and inspect for defects and bad seals.
  • Apply Pre-coat to assemblies.
  • Apply Mulgrain sand to assemblies.
  • Place assemblies on carousel.
  • Remove assemblies from carousel and inspect.
  • Fill or top off tubs on carousel.
  • Fill sand beds.
  • Turn and replace racks as needed.
  • Conduct housekeeping for personal work area and shared facility space.
  • Observe and comply with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Aid supervisor in identifying training needs.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled training and educational programs.
  • Understand, support, and participate in the company's Quality Plan, including quality objectives and quality commitment.
