About The Position

The Sheeter Operator is responsible for operating printing presses, ensuring accurate job completion, and maintaining operational efficiency. This role involves planning ahead for upcoming jobs, understanding job specifications, and accurately documenting all job-related information. The operator will monitor printing operations, communicate with other operators, and perform necessary maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure the press is ready for the next shift. Quality control, particularly in managing color on the press, is a key aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

Enter job completion details accurately into the OMS visual system.
Plan several jobs ahead to ensure job materials are ready.
Examine job orders to determine quantities for printing, stock specifications, color, or special printing instructions.
Fill out all proper documentation relating to job requirements (e.g., load tags, orders, data analysis, coating documentations).
Monitor feeding and printing operations to maintain specified operating levels and detect malfunctions.
Relay responsibilities to the feeder operator and communicate daily tasks.
Clean ink fountains during job changeovers and perform line clearance protocols.
Grease and lubricate the press according to manufacturing specifications and the company’s planned maintenance program.
Manage color on the printing press, adhering to quality and procedures.
Prepare the press for the next shift, aiming for a running press at shift change.
Perform other duties as assigned.
