About The Position

Our Quad Packing team in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Sheeter/Cutter Operator for our 8-hour day shift (6 am-2 pm). This is an opportunity to enhance skills working with the industry’s most advanced Packaging Equipment. The Sheeter/Cutter Operator operates and sets up sheeting/cutting equipment to convert paper rolls into finished sheets according to customer specifications. The role ensures product quality, production efficiency, and safe handling of materials while maintaining accurate inventory and production records. Requirements

  • Computer skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift 10-15 pounds continuously
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Stand long hours (8-hour shift)
  • Use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement
  • Receive and follow instructions
  • Use vision to identify defects
  • Knowledge of production processes and quality control
  • Ability to optimize machine setup and meet production goals
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment and safety procedures (e.g., Lockout/Tagout)
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively

Nice To Haves

  • 1–2 years of operating sheeting or cutting equipment in the packaging industry
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Machine repair and maintenance experience
  • Leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate sheeting/cutting equipment according to job orders and production schedules
  • Verify job specifications and select appropriate materials
  • Monitor production to ensure quality standards are met, including routine inspections
  • Identify and resolve defects or production issues
  • Accurately complete production records and maintain documentation
  • Handle materials, including staging finished goods and returning excess inventory
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain a clean, safe workspace
  • Support team initiatives, cross-training, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Follow all safety, quality, and food safety requirements
