About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Welding Technician to join a manufacturing team producing precision metal components. This role focuses on fitting, assembling, and welding light-gauge sheet metal parts according to production drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience working with thin-gauge materials in a production environment and can consistently produce accurate, high-quality welds.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience welding light-gauge sheet metal materials.
Ability to read basic blueprints and understand welding symbols.
Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, straightedges, templates, and gauges.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

Responsibilities

Fit and weld sheet metal components using MIG welding processes.
Read work orders, blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine project requirements.
Assemble and align parts using clamps, fixtures, and measuring tools.
Perform welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions as required.
Inspect completed welds and assemblies to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
Work with steel, aluminum, and other metal alloys.
Prepare materials through tack welding, grinding, heat bending, and related fabrication techniques.
Select appropriate welding methods based on material type and job specifications.
Perform routine equipment checks and assist with basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow all workplace safety procedures.
Work efficiently to meet daily production goals and schedules.
