About The Position

This role involves operating sheet metal machinery, including cutting, breaking, and sorting parts. The operator will participate in team problem-solving activities focused on quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements. The position requires meeting or exceeding targets in safety, quality, 5-S, and productivity, attending training, and performing other assigned duties. A willingness to learn, adherence to company policies, and maintaining a safe work environment are essential. The role also demands excellent work attendance, a positive attitude, and continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility. The operator must be proficient in using a tape measure, basic shop math, reading production orders, understanding shop drawings, and familiar with common hand and power tools.

Requirements

Understanding and proper use of tape measure within 1/32”
Must have a valid driver’s license
Basic shop math (i.e. add/subtract/divide/multiply, whole numbers and fractions)
Must be able to read Production Orders & understand shop drawings
Familiar with common hand and power tools
Continuous standing, sitting, squatting, bending, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday
Lifting of 50 lbs or more with assistance; two-person lift or mechanical
Wear PPE when required

Responsibilities

Basic Sheet Metal machine operations; cutting, breaking, and sorting of parts
Participate in team and shop business problem solving activities that include quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements

Attend training courses as directed by management
May perform other duties, as assigned
