About The Position

The Sheet Metal Journeyman will fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ductwork, plenums, air devices, louvers and air moving equipment. Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, bending rolls, and punch and drill presses to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal. Use spot welders, hand-held power tools, air hammers and hand tools to assemble ductwork and other sheet metal assemblies. Installs ductwork and sheet metal assemblies on worksite according to blueprints and specifications using hand tools and portable power tools. Installs air moving equipment, such as air handlers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, and unit heaters. Inspects and tests installations for conformance with the project requirements.

Requirements

  • Must have 4+ years of verifiable experience.
  • Work skillfully with tools, metals, and machines.
  • Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints.
  • Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
  • Perform a variety of duties which may change often; and rate information using measurable standards.
  • Must be able to: lift up to 50 pounds; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; and stand for long periods of time.
  • Positions require successful completion of a HAIR ANALYSIS drug screen and be able to successfully complete industrial plant access requirements.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Must pass drug and background check.
  • Ability to complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to safely use machinery and tools involved in sheet metal work.

  • May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Norrell Construction is required.
