About The Position

This individual is responsible for planning, laying out, participating in, and supervising ductwork/equipment installation on job sites. Must be able to measure ductwork and produce shop tickets (ie. mechanical rooms, etc.).

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years as a journeyman with experience in commercial sheet metal ductwork installation; or equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience.
  • Knowledge of scope of work.
  • Ability to work closely with Project Manager.
  • Ability to forecast labor by 2 week lookaheads.
  • Ability to coordinate work (i.e.: Job Schedule, Ordering Materials, Manage Tools and Directing Subs).
  • Ability to ensure Quality Control/Safety.
  • Ability to complete Reports (Daily Job, JSAs, Time Sheets, RFI's Tool Return, Safety, Accident and Dray Tickets).
  • Ability to perform Material Take-Off.
  • Ability to track Equipment Ship Dates.
  • Ability to manage Change Orders.
  • Ability to attend Job Meetings.
  • Ability to Control Job Cost (Materials, rental equipment, man hours).
  • Ability to manage Payroll.
  • Ability to handle Employee Termination.
  • Ability to serve as a mentor for future field leaders.
  • Ability to Control Manpower (Start Time and Leaving Time, Manage Productivity of Crew).
  • Accountability for meeting deadlines developed by Operations Manager.
  • Ability to layout work in front of your crew member(s).
  • Working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
  • Regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking equipment ship dates.
  • Managing change orders.
  • Attending job meetings.
  • Controlling job costs, including materials, rental equipment, and man hours.
  • Managing payroll.
  • Handling employee terminations.
  • Serving as a mentor for future field leaders.
  • Controlling manpower, including start and leaving times, and managing crew productivity.
  • Being accountable for meeting deadlines.
  • Laying out work in front of crew members.
