About The Position

The Sheet Metal Fabricator operates sheet metal roll formers, brakes, presses, and shears. The role also includes preparing and fabricating orders to schedule, loading, packing, wrapping, labeling, and shipping completed orders. Additional shop and warehouse duties may include moving materials, picking orders, building shipping pallets, operating a forklift, wood saws, and other machinery, and performing general shop tasks. The employee is expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment, use space efficiently, and communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers. This is a full-time position with a minimum schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or later to coincide with shop operating hours. Overtime is required as needed to meet the position’s essential functions. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Proven working experience in manufacturing; sheet metal experience is specified.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop within the organization.
Basic math skills.
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
Forklift experience.
High school degree or equivalent.
Ability to follow and adhere to standard safety practices.

Responsibilities

Operate sheet metal roll formers, metal brakes, presses, and shears.
Prepare, fabricate, and complete orders according to schedule.
Load, pack, wrap, label, and ship orders.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
Perform other shop and warehouse duties, which may include operating a forklift, wood saws, and other machinery.
Move materials, pick orders, and build shipping pallets.
