About The Position

Gaylord Industries, a division of ITW, is seeking a seasoned Sheet Metal Fabricator to join their team in Tualatin, OR. This role involves performing high-quality TIG welding, grinding, and finishing on stainless steel equipment and components. The position also includes assembly tasks such as installing screws, nuts, bolts, rivets, and silicone. The company emphasizes safety, housekeeping, and teamwork, with opportunities for cross-training and assisting in other areas. Welding constitutes 20% of the assembly process.

Requirements

• 1+ years of TIG welding experience.
• 1+ years of grinding/polishing experience.
• Skills to perform high quality TIG welding, grinding, and finishing.
• Working knowledge of the following tools: drill motors, cutoff saws, grinders, drill press, tapping tools, belt sanders, and various hand tools.
• Proficiently read and use a tape measure.
• Read and understand English in order to read/interpret prints, diagrams, and drawings.
• Proficient math skills.
• Must be a team player, including good interpersonal skills.
• Minimum age requirement is 18 years.
• Successful completion of an internal welding demonstration test.

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality TIG welding, grinding, and finishing on stainless steel equipment and components.
• Achieve and maintain high quality standards for fillet welds (uniform width and depth) and grinding/striping (no wider than 3/8", with burn marks blended out).
• Fuse weld a 90-degree joint, ensuring a flat weld surface, even width, and a sharp exterior edge with no rollover.
• Analyze plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and welding sequence.
• Follow all safety and housekeeping rules.
• Actively participate in the Safety Program.
• Cross-train into other areas and job functions as needed.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
• Perform assembly tasks including installation of screws, nuts, bolts, rivets, silicone, and more.

Benefits

• Hourly Pay Rate: $22.00 - $26.00 hourly DOE
• Schedule: Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 3:30pm
