About The Position
The Sheet Metal BIM Coordinator will be responsible for creating and updating 2D and 3D BIM models for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems. This role involves preparing construction layouts, shop drawings, and fabrication details, and revising drawings based on feedback. The coordinator will also be involved in coordinating mechanical, electrical, and structural models to resolve clashes and ensure drawings comply with project specifications and company standards. The position requires participation in design reviews, team meetings, and ongoing technical training, as well as developing an understanding of mechanical construction processes, prefabrication, and field installation practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Navisworks preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent drafting accuracy.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn new technical skills and mechanical construction processes.
Responsibilities
- Create and update 2D and 3D BIM models for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
- Prepare construction layouts, shop drawings, and fabrication details.
- Revise drawings based on feedback from BIM Trade Leads, Project Coordinators, and BIM Coordinators.
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and structural models to identify and resolve clashes.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications and company drafting standards.
- Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and ongoing technical training.
- Develop an understanding of mechanical construction processes, prefabrication, and field installation practices.
