About The Position

Silgan is seeking a Shear Operator for their Richmond, IN facility. This role is crucial to the company's position as an essential part of the world's food supply chain. The Shear Operator will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating multiple shear machines to process flat stock metal, as well as handling materials and maintaining equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with various hand tools and hoists, skids and electric hand trucks.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust shears and simultaneously operate multiple shears.
• Operate controls of shears and auxiliary equipment to shear flat stock metal.
• Obtain, handle, and dispose of metal stock and material scrap.
• Lubricate shear equipment.
• Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
• Follow all Plant food safety procedures.
