About The Position

The Shear Operator calculates how best to arrange material so there is very little waste. This role involves using AX as trained to find and pull material for orders, cutting orders per router instructions, and following set guidelines for proper inspection of material and cut size, grain direction, and batch number. The operator will tag material with the shop order number and count using proper color code tags, and stage material for shipping according to proper shipping guidelines by material type. The position requires the ability to identify and complete critical jobs in a timely manner, keep work areas clean, use proper lifting equipment when handling material, and ask for help when needed. Additionally, the operator must know their equipment, maintain set check areas, update AX lot notes with all material changes, and do job cards for all material used.

Requirements

Basic computer skills
Read written directions
Take verbal instructions
Able to use measuring devices
Basic math skills
Forklift experience
Good Attendance
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
