About The Position

This position involves operating metal shearing equipment (track hoe) with a strong emphasis on safe work habits. The operator will be responsible for observing shear operations to detect malfunctions, notifying maintenance when necessary, and loading/unloading items from various sources. Key duties also include maintaining equipment cleanliness, ensuring the work area is neat and orderly, and practicing effective housekeeping for safety and hygienic conditions. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential, as is organizing materials for efficient space utilization and disposing of waste materials appropriately. The role requires ongoing attention to safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

Must pass a medical physical and drug test
Must pass a background check
Ability to communicate with others effectively
Ability to understand direction (written or oral)
Ability to use basic math skills as the job demands

Nice To Haves

Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are "grandfathered" into their positions.
High school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
Previous Shear experience a plus
