About The Position
This position involves operating metal shearing equipment (track hoe) with a strong emphasis on safe work habits. The operator will monitor shear operations for any malfunctions, notify maintenance when needed, and manage the loading and unloading of items. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean work area and equipment, organizing materials for efficient space utilization, and proper waste disposal. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential, as is maintaining effective housekeeping for safety and hygiene.
Requirements
- Must pass a medical physical and drug test
- Must pass a background check
- Ability to communicate with others effectively
- Ability to understand direction (written or oral)
- Ability to use basic math skills as the job demands
Nice To Haves
- Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are "grandfathered" into their positions.
- Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
- Previous Shear experience a plus
Responsibilities

- Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed
- Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members
