About The Position

Are you ready to strengthen safety performance through technology, data integrity, rapid response support, and practical digital solutions? As SHE Response and Technology Manager, you will lead SHE platform administration, and continuous improvement of SHE digital platforms, strengthen incident-data integrity, and improve the user experience across Chief Operating Officer sites. Approximately 60% of your focus will support Gaithersburg, with 40% supporting other COO sites. You will partner with site leaders, enterprise SHE, IT, vendors, and subject-matter experts to build a consistent, audit-ready operating model, improve reporting efficiency, and advance safety culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, business, communications, information management, technology, project management, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of project-management support experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, priorities, stakeholders, and time in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong written communication, presentation, and public-speaking skills.
  • Working knowledge of relevant Safety, Health and Environment practices and technology developments.
  • Proficiency with AI-enabled tools, Microsoft 365 applications, and Adobe Express, Acrobat Sign, and Acrobat Pro.
  • Ability to work onsite in Gaithersburg a minimum of three days per week on average.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, priorities, stakeholders, and time in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong written communication, presentation, and public-speaking skills.
  • Working knowledge of relevant Safety, Health and Environment practices and technology developments.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or formal training in OSHA, Lean Six Sigma, or National Safety Council practices.
  • Some experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, a regulated corporate environment, or a Safety, Health and Environment function.
  • Experience administering or supporting SharePoint, Workvivo, Veeva Vault, incident-management systems, or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Experience developing service-level measures, knowledge-management practices, adoption metrics, or user-support processes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the multi-site strategy and roadmap for SHE digital platforms, including SharePoint, Workvivo, Veeva Vault, the AZ SHE System, and related tools.
  • Establish governance, standards, and key performance indicators for content lifecycle management, metadata, searchability, permissions, and archival to support accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Partner with administrators, IT teams, and vendors to manage platform configuration, information architecture, upgrades, outages, releases, and enhancements.
  • Evaluate SHE workflows and translate business needs into practical technology and AI-enabled improvements that reduce administrative burden, strengthen reporting, and improve decision-making.
  • Manage a transparent backlog and release plan; advise SHE leadership on priorities, risks, trade-offs, timelines, and expected benefits.
  • Lead the Gaithersburg SHE Help Desk and support COO-site service channels by setting service levels, quality standards, escalation pathways, case-management practices, and root-cause reviews.
  • Serve as the primary Gaithersburg administrator for incident, near-miss, action, and observation data; strengthen user literacy and data integrity while escalating technical issues appropriately.
  • Develop guidance, templates, knowledge articles, communications, and training that improve digital proficiency and consistent documentation practices across SHE teams.
  • Coordinate communications across intranet, digital signage, presentations, and other channels; measure engagement and refine content based on user needs.
  • Support the annual Safety Celebration, quarterly safety collaborations, town halls, and other initiatives that strengthen safety culture and wellbeing.
  • Represent SHE in cross-functional forums and lead change-management plans for system and process updates, including communications, training, adoption measures, and managed releases.
  • Lead ad hoc, multi-site projects in response to business needs, with clear scope, ownership, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Support a 24-7 operation. On-call coverage is required for this role. Employees may be scheduled to participate in an on-call rotation and must be available outside standard working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support business-critical activities.
